Primary Movement Programme
Primary Movement® is a unique movement programme which seeks to replicate the early movements of the fetus and to enhance the maturation of the central nervous system. In a number of formal research studies it has been shown to have a significant impact on the educational attainments of children with specific learning difficulties including dyslexia.
At Oakwood, Primary Movement is incorporated into our class teaching, on a daily basis, from pre-school through to Primary 7. The SENI Coordinator also provides one-to-one support for those children displaying difficulties in the classroom situation. A one-to-one programme is then devised for those children to complete at home with their parents, alongside the day-to-day programme in school.
