Integrated Week 2016

Integrated week is in full swing at Integrated Schools across the land!

Here is an overview of the activities for the whole school, each class will also be completing their own projects. The topic this year is harmony. Check back very soon for some photos!

Here is an outline of the week’s proceedings:

In school Green Screen iPad Competition: All classes will take some time to create a short clip ( 2- 3 minutes) on the subject of Harmony or "what integration means to us". It could be a song, a humorous ‘skit’ or a serious presentation – up to the kids! (Don’t forget The Carson Awards are coming up!) The closing date for our internal competition will be Thursday 10th March.

Whole school events:

Monday: 9.15 – 9.30 Integrated week assembly in the hall to kick things off – Led by Mr. M.

Tuesday: 11.00 am – 11.45 am – International Ceili – The Harmony of Music! - featuring music and dance from Ireland/Northern Ireland; Scotland and England. The P2 children will help each class to learn a simple dance or two.  P7 and P1– 11 – 11.15 ; P5 and P4  11.15 – 11.30 ; P3 and P6  11.30 – 11.45 ; Wednesday – we will be harmonising with other classes around the world for World Maths Day!

Thursday – World Book Day dress up!

Visit to Stormont Assembly for a celebration of Integrated Education.

Friday: Wrap Up assembly (Mr M): The children will be ready to share what we have learnt in each class – including green screen movies if possible.

Each class will also be doing their own work on the subject of Harmony throughout the week.
