We went outside in P2 to have fun with snails! We looked for snails, followed their trails, and made lots of interesting, swirly patterns using water bottles and chalk.

Today we looked at 2D shapes. We then had lots of fun working in pairs to create squares.

We have been thoroughly enjoying our 'Monsters' topic in P3! In Forest School this week we used natural resources to create our very own Monsters! 🧌

As part of Maths Week, P3 enjoyed participating in a measurement scavenger hunt! We found lots of objects around the school and used our rulers and measuring tapes to measure them! 

We're having a great time during math week in P2! To wrap up the week, we went to Forest school and measured sticks to create a big and small Funny Bones skeletons. Everyone used wonderful math language in P2!

We really enjoy our time at Forest School on Friday mornings. During our last visit, we had a great time exploring and gathering things that represent Autumn. There were so many beautiful colours around!

This week, our topic is Funny Bones. The children had a great time learning interesting facts about our bones. We did a lot of fun activities that helped us understand how our bodies are put together.

We had fun painting pictures of ourselves. There are a lot of very skilled artists in P2! ❤️🎨

This year for maths week we focused on an outdoor measuring task. We had to find lots of items in nature and sort them from small to middle to big. It was very busy and we found some very exciting things.

Last week we were so lucky to have the amazing production company M&M putting on a version of Aladdin. They transformed the hall into a great stage set up with props and lights. It was a fantastic experience for all the children to broaden and enrich their experiences at Oakwood. 

In P1 we have started to learn about letters and the sounds they make. We love using the chalk, sand and colouring pens to practice writing our new sounds. We enjoy learning songs about our sounds to help them stick in our brains.
